WordPress Upgrade 2.3

Just yesterday, I decided to go ahead and upgrade to the newest beta of WordPress 2.3 (beta 3). I made sure to backup everything possible before I did this in case something went wrong. Since you are reading this, nothing went wrong. It was very easy to upgrade. I will continue to keep it up-to-date to keep all bugs out and security in.

What does this upgrade mean for you? Not much really, except that there is one feature that you will start noticing that I added to the recent entries. That is the tags, in case you didn’t notice. Until there is a more automated or better manual way of adding tags to older entries or a plugin that will allow me to edit just the tags for each entry without having to go through every single one by editing and saving, I am not going to add the tags to older entries.

If the people at WordPress don’t include it into WordPress, maybe someone else would be willing to create a plugin to do it? Please! I’m sure it’s something simple that could be put together if you know how to write the code. All it needs is to be a page with a list of every entry (paged of course (possibly using AJAX?)) and next to each one would be a text field to enter/edit the tags. Then, at the bottom of the page a submit button and all entries are edited!

If only I could create my own plugin – it would be my first!

Back From Vacation

I arrived back at home on Sunday around 2 a.m. Virginia Beach was very nice! I want to go back, now that I see what the weather is currently like in New York; rainy. Every day at Virginia Beach was sunny, not a single drop of rain.

It was very expensive just to buy things there. I had to buy a few things to wear for the beach, since I was only able to grab a couple pairs of shorts here before leaving, since they are going out of season here. (No, I didn’t own many shorts. The two I had fit me before I lost all the weight from the pregnancy.)

Anyone choosing to stay at a Rodeway Inn, try to avoid it if possible. It wasn’t as bad as some people have said it is, but it’s not as nice as most. The day before our last day, we wanted the floor in one room vacuumed and we didn’t need towels, but the person brought in towels and didn’t vacuum. Did the complete opposite! Also, the bed wasn’t that comfortable. My body felt stiff every morning. A shower took care of most of the stiffness and the rest was dealt with.

Next time, we’ll probably make reservations early, instead of one week before we leave, so we aren’t stuck with whatever hotel is left.

If you visit Virginia, I recommend going to the Roger Brown’s Restaurant & Sports Bar. The food and service are wonderful! Might even be able to see him if you’re lucky.

It was very relaxing on the beach. Ended up with a sunburn on my legs after using a sunblock from Neutrogena. I don’t burn very easily, but after using that stuff, I did.

Anyway, I am back and trying to catch up so I can start writing on here. Expect a new blog entry in a day or two. And, in case anyone has forgotten about the free advertising, go read about it or share it with a friend!

I’m Not In the Office Right Now, I’m On Vacation

That’s right, for one week I will not be at my desk to write or respond to any comments or e-mails. I have left for vacation. When I come back, I will tell you all about it!

I may or may not have access to the Internet, being that the hotel doesn’t provide Internet access, I’m not sure if I’ll end up at a coffee shop with Internet access or not. If at some point I do, the most I’ll do is check e-mail and respond if it’s very important. Otherwise, vacation time means no work!

See you all in a week.

Is Internet Explorer Taking Over Firefox?

According to Google Analytics, more people use Internet Explorer than Firefox when visiting here. Before IE7, more people used Firefox. Is there a feature in IE7 that people prefer over safer browsing in Firefox? Or is this all related to more and more people using Vista? According to Analytics, that isn’t the case. Vista only takes up about 8%.

Below shows the stats as they are displayed in Google Analytics for this month:

To My Readers

I apologize to all my readers, the server was down for quite a while starting yesterday evening until sometime this morning I guess. Hopefully that doesn’t happen again.

Currently, I cannot access my e-mail, but they are working on that problem right now. So if anyone has contacted me at all regarding the free advertising, I apologize! I would not have received your e-mail. If by the end of the day, you haven’t heard back about it, then please contact me again with the same information.
