iPod
I received a 30GB iPod (black) from my dad for Christmas. I’m not someone who goes crazy over iPod products, but I do like mp3 players and the iPod is really nice. It’s not just an audio player, but also a video player. I haven’t tried it yet, but it allows you to view photos, too.
When I found out it could play games, I thought, “Wow, that’s neat.” But, I’m not really impressed because moving through menus was even hard for me at first; taking me about 10 minutes to figure out (I didn’t read the instructions first). So, I probably won’t use it to really play games. I have a Nintendo DS for that anyway. The other features include a calendar, clock, notes, and a stopwatch. I wanted to use the calendar, but for some reason it’s not syncing right with Outlook. I’m not sure why that is, yet.
I love that I can subscribe to podcasts (audio and video) and listen to/watch them on the iPod, so I’m not limited to just music. Video plays really well.
The only thing, I think, that bugs me is in order to charge the battery, I have to hook it up to a computer. If I was to go somewhere and the battery is dying, I’d have no way of charging it unless I dragged the laptop around with me, which I don’t plan on doing. Now, I’m new to the “iPod World”, so maybe there’s another way of charging the battery that I don’t know about.
Overall, I love it. It’s so small that it can fit just about anywhere and not take up a lot of space.
