This has made my day! I’m not even sure that anyone in the Meebo forum knows about this since I have never seen it mentioned in my search for something similar. Chris Kasten from Solo Technology created it. Thank you Chris! Meebo can now run in its own window, rather than keeping the browser open 24/7.
The features include:
- Running Meebo as its own application (as seen in screenshot).
- Ability to minimize to the tray.
- Open other websites.
Those are enough features for me! Well, I would love to see the icon in the tray blink or even display a popup notification down there telling me what’s going on when it’s minimized. Maybe in the future Chris?

Glad you like it! :-)
Someday I hope to find the time to tackle the “blinking while minimized” challenge. Someday…
Best Regards,
Chris

Kool IM is another web messenger, similar to Meebo, not a way for allowing Meebo to act as its own application.
Oh yeah, I should’ve warned you about amanda and friends. You can’t have a blog post about Meebo without getting their k**lim.com plugs. :-\
Oh! Thank you for telling me!
Bad Amber!
Hello
Great book. I just want to say what a fantastic thing you are doing! Good luck!
G’night
