As I was searching the Internet for a wifi connector for my Nintendo DS, I came across the Nintendo DS Browser, which I had never heard of before. Some stores are starting to sell it this week.
Anyway, I figured since I want to use my DS for playing games wirelessly with other players, maybe using the Internet with the DS would be nice as well. Since I’m usually away from my desk and my laptop is just annoying because it has to be plugged into an outlet at all times, this is a perfect solution for me.
I looked around for reviews about the Browser and found one by Joshua Zimmerman, which also includes a couple YouTube videos of the Browser in action. If you are interested in reading the review and watching the videos, read Nintendo DS Browser Review.
If you’re unsure what the Browser is, it’s an Opera browser that lets you view websites as you would on a computer. Check e-mail, weather, news, etc. From what I’ve read, chatting doesn’t seem to work, but maybe a web messenger out there might work. I plan on testing that out.
I also read that browsing is slow on the DS. That’s a little disappointing, but not a big deal.
After reading the review, I decided to pre-order the DS Browser and test it out. Hopefully it will arrive this week.
