Flickr’s Own iPhone/iPod Touch App

flickr-iphone-photographerI’m not sure what took Yahoo! so long to release their own app. This app was a surprise to me as I haven’t had much time to pay attention to anything going on, so I don’t know if this was news that shocked everyone else or just me. This was a good surprise though! I grabbed the app the day it was released.

The Flickr app really makes using Flickr on my iPod Touch a lot easier and more enjoyable. I actually have fun looking through my contact’s photos now. It’s better than opening Flickr in the browser, whether on the iPod Touch or computer!

Opening the app displays a slideshow of recent photos from your contacts. At the top of the app, you can search for photos and videos from your contacts, your photostream or all. Easily view your own photos or videos you’ve uploaded.

The app also makes it easy to upload photos to your photostream by touching the little camera icon at the top right of the app. I don’t know if it gives the iPhone more options, but on the iPod Touch it allows me to upload from Library, since there currently isn’t a camera in the iPod Touch (2nd generation).

I have noticed if I move a little too quickly through the app, it will crash. So, be patient and take your time or you will be re-opening the app again!

Go get the app if you haven’t already. Look for ‘Flickr’ in the App Store!
