Writers Head to Helium

I’ve been a member of Helium for about two to three years. When I first started, Helium writers mainly wrote opinion based articles or short answers. Now, Helium has become more strict with this. Your articles pretty much have to be at least 2 paragraphs or more long. Spelling errors are eliminated with the spell check.

One thing I don’t like that they have done, is that in order for a new revision of an article to be added, other members have to rate it better than your old one. Some members may not know which one is better because they don’t have enough knowledge on the subject, or they just don’t see the difference. I’ve actually had to make two revisions to one article before it was finally accepted. Boy, was that a pain.

There’s also something else I really don’t like. You aren’t allowed to delete your articles. I have at least a couple articles that are not good anymore, partly because of the new changes to Helium, and that I don’t want to write a new article because I have nothing else to add to it. It’s my article, I should be able to delete it.

I’m not really complaining, just pointing out what I don’t like about Helium.

I do like that we are paid for our articles’ views. I also like the new ‘debate’ feature with writing articles. It gives everyone a chance to give their opinion on a subject. But, then, this also adds more and more of the same articles saying the same thing, like it was on the old Helium. Of course, if you can add something to the debate that someone else hasn’t, then go ahead!

If you like to write or want to get into writing, Helium is a good place to start. There are so many topics to write about already and if you think of a new one, you’re allowed to submit it. And, remember, when people view your articles, you will get paid.
