WP Designer Showcase Theme

WP Designer Showcase Theme

Small Potato over at WP Designer has released a premium theme for showcases. It’s a very nice theme, although there are a couple things I would have done differently.

One is the CSS hover effect over the images. I think it would look better if the background had a little transparency allowing the image to still be seen. Or removing it and displaying the information below the images.

The second is the rating stars. I think these should have been customized for a better appearance. If this was a free theme, I wouldn’t expect them to be changed. For a premium one, I would. Here is one set that I created a while back: Simple Stars for WP-PostRatings Plugin. The plugin is already integrated into the theme.

The best part of this theme is that it’s customizable.

It comes with 5 different color schemes and 8 layout variations.

There is a demo available for Showcase.

There are three licensing options to choose from. Single Domain, Multiple Domain and Developer. Also, a credit removal option which costs a little extra.

Back From Vacation

I arrived back at home on Sunday around 2 a.m. Virginia Beach was very nice! I want to go back, now that I see what the weather is currently like in New York; rainy. Every day at Virginia Beach was sunny, not a single drop of rain.

It was very expensive just to buy things there. I had to buy a few things to wear for the beach, since I was only able to grab a couple pairs of shorts here before leaving, since they are going out of season here. (No, I didn’t own many shorts. The two I had fit me before I lost all the weight from the pregnancy.)

Anyone choosing to stay at a Rodeway Inn, try to avoid it if possible. It wasn’t as bad as some people have said it is, but it’s not as nice as most. The day before our last day, we wanted the floor in one room vacuumed and we didn’t need towels, but the person brought in towels and didn’t vacuum. Did the complete opposite! Also, the bed wasn’t that comfortable. My body felt stiff every morning. A shower took care of most of the stiffness and the rest was dealt with.

Next time, we’ll probably make reservations early, instead of one week before we leave, so we aren’t stuck with whatever hotel is left.

If you visit Virginia, I recommend going to the Roger Brown’s Restaurant & Sports Bar. The food and service are wonderful! Might even be able to see him if you’re lucky.

It was very relaxing on the beach. Ended up with a sunburn on my legs after using a sunblock from Neutrogena. I don’t burn very easily, but after using that stuff, I did.

Anyway, I am back and trying to catch up so I can start writing on here. Expect a new blog entry in a day or two. And, in case anyone has forgotten about the free advertising, go read about it or share it with a friend!

Wakoopa: Show Everyone What Software You Use

Wakoopa Wakoopa is a website that lets you show everyone what software you use and for how long. It requires a small file to be downloaded and then installed to gather the information. By default, it is set to automatically start with Windows.

I thought I would give Wakoopa a try and see what it’s like and see how well it keeps track of my software usage. I’m also curious about how long I do use some of the programs.

Here’s a list of my top software: My top 10 software.

I’m Not In the Office Right Now, I’m On Vacation

That’s right, for one week I will not be at my desk to write or respond to any comments or e-mails. I have left for vacation. When I come back, I will tell you all about it!

I may or may not have access to the Internet, being that the hotel doesn’t provide Internet access, I’m not sure if I’ll end up at a coffee shop with Internet access or not. If at some point I do, the most I’ll do is check e-mail and respond if it’s very important. Otherwise, vacation time means no work!

See you all in a week.
