eBay: Buyer Beware

I finally received the Nintendo DS Wifi Max in the mail yesterday afternoon, after three weeks of supposedly having been shipped from North Carolina to New York! I am thinking after I reported the item as not received to PayPal, the person probably quickly sent the item out. Of course, it wasn’t even new or sealed as stated in the eBay listing, but at this point, I am not going to go through the trouble of sending it back (at my expense) and waiting for a refund to eventually get to me.

For those of you considering buying anything on eBay from an inflatablemadness, don’t do it. Read the feedback (a lot of negatives), look on the eBay forum, not a good idea to purchase from that one. If you do, do so at your own risk.

For what I paid for a used item, I would have been better off paying the full price for a new one at Amazon!

GoDaddy Promo Codes

I just purchased a new domain (not releasing the name right now) and used a promo code to save some money. Anytime I buy online, I always look for promo codes. It’s especially good when you have to pay shipping and you find a code that gives you free shipping. Just that little extra saved makes a big difference. It feels good to save!

Here are a few promo codes that as of today are still good:

  1. OYH1: 10% off any GoDaddy order.
  2. OYH2: $5 off any $30 order.
  3. OYH3 $6.95 .COM registration.

I found these at In Over Your Head.

Borrowing Money

I have borrowed money before, but only small amounts. Then came the credit card and I borrowed money that way. But I don’t go on a shopping spree and spend my entire credit limit. Also, I only use it if I have the money (or will have the money very soon). Of course, if I have the cash on me, I would rather just use the cash instead of putting it on the card.

Loans can be a good way to borrow money, but you need to be careful about doing so. If you know you can’t pay them back, it’s probably best to not get a loan. There are secured loans and there are personal loans. Depending on what you need will determine which type you should choose.

Borrow money wisely and carefully! Keep track of your spending and pay back loans on time.

Finally, Free Games

I used to have a GameTap subscription, but then I wasn’t working as much so I had to cancel it, because my bank account would be charged monthly. I wasn’t even using GameTap for a while because the software wouldn’t even run well on the computer. If a popup from some program came up, GameTap would minimize and then I’d go back in and it would look all screwed up and I would have to close it and start over.

Anyway, I received an e-mail saying:

Every week, you can log in and play over 30 different games for FREE.

No trial period. No commitment.

Windows Live Messenger 8.5 Beta

I’m not sure how I missed this one, but Windows Live Messenger 8.5 Beta was released sometime recently. If it was today, then I was very lucky to just happen to see it on the Live Betas page when I decided to go there.

Windows Live Messenger 8.5 Beta Window

Since I had a problem with the old Windows Live Messenger today when somehow a trojan just came through and corrupted the messenger to the point that I couldn’t repair it, I had to uninstall and clean my system. Then I installed the new Windows Live Messenger. My first impression of this new version was, wow. It looks much better than the older version. I’m sure there are more features than just the design, but I don’t care.

Anyway, I thought I would share the new look of this new beta. One image is the messenger window and the other one is the message window. Looks better, right?
