This is Cute

I came across Floooxy by chance and thought the intro page was very cute. The website is mainly about website design and graphics, but I wasn’t interested. There’s also another language, so I can’t understand what most of it says

Here’s the preview of the intro page. Click the preview below to view the full image. It’s animated, so the preview won’t show you how cute it really is.

Me cute. You? Not so much.

Don’t Just Color With Crayons, Make Art

I just found Pete Goldlust’s Carved Crayons today. There isn’t much information about the tools he uses to carve the crayons. The only information is the small amount of text below the pictures of each crayon.

Besides Carved Crayons, he has also done other types of art. Sculpture and relief panels are a couple of them. They are somewhat strange and unique. Check it out if you are interested. This page has some information about the art Pete has done.

Deciding Between Microsoft and Linux

That depends on what you need. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on software, Linux is a great way to go, because it’s free if you download a distribution, such as Red Hat, Mandrake, SuSE, etc. Otherwise, you can purchase a copy in a store. Linux is very reliable and fast. There is a lot of support for Linux too. Less likely to get a virus that could damage your system.

Choosing a Linux Distribution

One of the things I found really hard was choosing a Linux distribution to install on my system. You really don’t know which one will work for you and/or you’ll like unless you try it out. The best way to do that is to get a Live CD/DVD of the distribution (available via downloading) and then try it out without having to install it only to find out you don’t like it. A list of Live CDs/DVDs available for lots of distributions can be found here: http://www.frozentech.com/content/livecd.php
